I will always remember and be grateful to Robert for offering me my first job at Harold Williams Bennett and partners 37 years ago and where I still am today. I enjoyed working with him for many years and have the utmost respect for his professionalism and the calm, kind gentleman he always was. MY thoughts and love to all his family. In memory of my friend Robert. I shall miss you and your ready smile and witty stories. I will always remember with fondness the times we spent together either in the village, on board your various yachts or travelling to events in our roles as Churchwardens. Farewell my friend; may you rest in well deserved peace. Bryan Wilson.

Robert showed us what it means to be a Christian. This faith helped us all to recognise that whatever tragedy might befall us in our lives, we have the assurance that we don't have to face them on our own. Robert was a kind and generous man. He always was interested in me as a person ,Tina, not just as the vicar's wife!
He was willing to take me out in his boat in spite of my lack of confidence on the water which was brave of him!
